Objective

Hardware and Software Experience

Skills and Abilities

·   Configured a 4 node encrypted Taclane mesh network between two sites for a VTC setup with server access.

·   Redesigned a production network to improve top down traffic flow, VLANS and segmented broadcast domains.  I implemented redesign in phases so that the production network stayed online for employee use.

·   Project lead of 6 employees to wire an empty office building with Cat5 cabling and in-wall office drops to a server room patch panel.  Performed measurements and calculations to maximize the cable runs per box to lower costs.

·   Built a syslog server and centralized security logging.

·   Migrated existing VMs in a VMware environment to a new network and VCenter Datacenter server hosts.

·   Migrated PCs, Servers and VMs, in phases, to a new network while staying in production.

·   Keeping PCs, Servers, VMware host, etc. patched and software updated in an air gapped, classified network.

·   Created extensive manuals and documentation on network and system maintenance and troubleshooting.

·   Designed, Implemented, monitor and maintain system backup procedures to ensure data and computer systems are recoverable

·   Developed, implemented and maintain a business continuance strategy and documented procedures.

·   Planning, coordinating and providing technical assistance in changing system elements or operational procedures to achieve defined system level needs.

·   Assisting with the design, plan and implementation of new infrastructure components or changes to existing infrastructure configurations.

·   Identifying, investigating, evaluating, testing and recommending software and hardware components.

·   Platform architecture decisions and provide technical solutions to enhance system functionality.

·   As Software CM Manager, I build, Install and configure software, releases, patches, and post install validation following a strict change control and release process.

·   Troubleshoot and resolve problems with hardware, software and operating systems.

·   Experience configuring, deploying, administering and optimizing a variety of IT Servers in a mixed Operating System environment.

·   Install, secure, maintain, troubleshoot, administer and upgrade Microsoft Windows Server operating systems, Redhat Enterprise Linux Servers, Solaris Servers and ESXi Servers.

·   Maintain Email servers, NIS Authenication, Active Directory and DNS servers (BIND and Microsoft.)

·   Manage users in a Solaris NIS and Windows Active Directory Domain.

·   Administer Virtual Environment and manage the creation, clone, addition and removal of Virtual Machines.

·   Inventory Management of all customer owned equipment with customer contact during Bi-annual audits.

·   Administer and maintain McAfee Antivirus on all systems.

·   Monitor system performance and recommend performance tuning as needed.

·   Familiar with Regulatory policies, Documenting procedures, privacy, and security standards.

·   Management of all physical servers, virtual servers and workstations patching.  Updates utilizing off-line local repositories and WSUS.
